HELP!?

Greetings to you allI need your help! For the past two days I leafed through my books and tried to find the next project. I even tried to join into the latest challenge recreating the 'yes you can' doily. But, I'm finding that I need repetition right now. And then, I went to the Flea Market. Look what I found!!
It's 2.25 yards of an amazing tatted edge.
So, I need your help. It is three edges two joined and the third crochet joined. I really want to replicate the top. It looks like chain work...
Do you know where this pattern can be found?
I've got that endless edge...you know....My April 25th post...not sure how to link to it.... I could attach that edge. Can you tell I think I've found the 'next' project? So, Please,....I need your help! (maybe a bit of mental help is in order too) Smiles! John

  1. I'm sure I've seen that pattern or something very familiar in the antique books. I'm sure somebody will know where. What a wonderful find.

  3. Konior, Tatting with Visual Patterns, page14/15 has a filet panel with some blocks filled in but the technique is there. What a gorgeous piece!

  6. A beautiful find. Congratulations. I've made such a filet like edging some years ago. I could try to find the notes I made and mail them to You, if You want.

  7. SH 1:

    2 - 4 - 2

    sh 2:

    2 - 4 - 2

Continue for desired width ending on sh 2.

    To turn:

    Sh 1:

    2 - 4 - 4 - 4 and join to the last picot made with sh2.

    Sh 2:

    2

    Sh 1:

    2 - 4 - 2

    Sh 2:

    2 + 4 + 2

Continue to end of row and turn as above for first row.

It appears to me that the two rows have been joined by working over one of the turning rows of the mesh with single crochet and picking up the picots of the second edging rings with a double crochet.

    Clear as mud?

    Hope this helps!

  8. Actually, I needed to start that whole "blah-blah" out with Wind two shuttles continuous thread method (although it would be very interesting worked in two colors). Also, on second observation the actual edging pictured appears to be worked in multiples of 3 rather than 2 (i.e. 3-6-3 instead of 2-4-2).

I enjoyed seeing you at Tat Days!

  9. What a wonderful find! (Perhaps "repetition" should be your middle name when these "spells" come over you?)

Once again I am flummoxed at the idea of such a project. Then Erin pops on with the pattern written out after eye-balling the photo. Truly I am a "lil' ole' cricket bug" amid great and wondrous talents!

Best of luck with this project, I am certain it will be a fabulous endeavor.
