A Few More Days

The edge is coming along. Only a few more days and I'll be ready to attach it to the hanky. I think it's going to fit well on the hanky...but the jury is still out on that.

To this point, I'm very pleased with the progress and the look. Mary K's patterns are so nice to work.

On another note....I need your help. I'm trying to place comments in your posts. For some, there's no problem. While with others, it's asking me to pick a profile. When I try...I'm redirected back to the sign in page...I do this...and, nothing. I can't even comment on my own page after ya'll leave comments.

Does anyone know what's going on with this?

I hope your weekend is going well!
John

  1. your hankie is coming along beautiful, and I have no idea at all as far as the comments, I never know what is wrong with blogger, the only thing I can suggest is try sending an email to the person if they have one posted :) but as far as fixing the comment part itself, I am lucky I know how to use my blog at all, sorry.

I still love this hankie and it's edge though :X

  2. I had that problem at work but not at home. It has something to do with system configurations in relation to the newest version of IE and perhaps Blogger. Anyway, someone, I don't remember who now, said where you log in to blogger, to uncheck the box where it says "keep me signed in". You may have to log out and back in to do that, but it worked for me. In some cases, I could click on the name/url and fill that out and it worked. I'm a member of some other blogging communities so sometimes, like at livejournal, I could log in there and leave a comment. I don't know what the permanent fix is but not checking the box worked for me.

Actually, just now on yours (and I'm home), I had to use the name/url option. If you've recently upgraded something, you might have to change some settings.

  3. This edging looks fantastic, and the corners look perfect so far. Just beautiful!

As Gina says, sometimes it's just in unchecking the 'keep me signed in' box. This was a 'known issue' in Blogger back around May 24 (they actually have a "Known Issues for Blogger Blog", if you can understand the techno-speak!), and it drove me crazy, but I thought they had fixed it; thenI had a problem the other day, and I just unchecked the box. It seemed to happen only on the blogs that have the comment setup similar to yours. Hope this helps! Believe me, I'm not a Blogger expert!

  4. Your edging looks wonderful - I, too, love working MK patterns.

I've noticed the blogger issue too - I'm going to have to try the suggestions left already. I've learned to copy my posts BEFORE I hit the 'post comment' button too - I've lost many long, thoughtful posts!

  5. Your hanky edging is beautiful!

My mom couldn't leave a comment on my blog for over a year unless she visited my daughter's blog first. Recently she changed her password, and now she has no problems posting comments. I have no idea what that had to do with anything, but it worked for her.

  9. That edging is just perfect -- both in execution, and in fitting the style of the handkerchief! Very well done.

  10. Is that edge out of a book or a patten you made? it is beautiful, I find myself looking back at it often and wondering where the pattern is available and how much it is. Your tatting is just stunning, I think you have impeccable tatting skills, I just love everything you tat.

  11. Thanks to you all!! Bri, the pattern in in Mary Konior's 'Tatting with Visual Patterns'. I got mine from the Handy Hands website. It contains alot of wonderful patterns.

Did I hear someone say TAT Days registration is open?!?!

  12. I love MK's patterns, and you've tatted this one beautifully!
I had the same problem with blogger for a while, and had to sign in with my name and url each time I wanted to post on my own blog, or to comment on others. It seemed to correct itself after a week or two, but then I switched to firefox, so I'm not sure if that was the reason it suddenly was okay.

  14. Hi John..beautiful edging and hanky! I am coincidentally doing the same edging for a round, scalloped edged 6" cotton hanky for my nieces wedding. Mi have never attached my tatting to a hanky before, and am now worried if it will fit. I modified the pattern to leave out the corner motif you used for the square hanky. Any advice you could give me would be much appreciated! Laurie
